Tanaka
Growing together -
In Shona, TANAKA means ‘we are good’. At Tanaka, we believe in the spirit of people coming together to create change. All our projects are community-focused and community-led. We think, talk, and work as ‘we’ not I. Every product we source and offer for export is testament to Africa, crafted for the world.
We source exportable community-led produce from Zimbabwe
PECANS
SESAME
Our Tanaka Sesame seeds are grown in Zimbabwe’s driest regions, where this resilient crop thrives without fertiliser, chemicals, or heavy rainfall — needing only seed, soil, and the dedication of the families who cultivate it. Starting with 150 growers, the network has now grown to 14,000 farmers, supporting 70,000 family members.
PAPRIKA & CHILLI
Our Paprika and Chili projects have been initiated accross Zimbabwe and are being developed to exportable scale.
Our Tanaka Pecans are naturally fertilised, watered, harvested and shelled by hand. 70% of the community nurturing this process are women. The oldest of our trees were planted over 60 years ago; as our trees grow, we also grow together.
